CIP: Meal challange

Last week my class teamed up with another class  to do a CIP (Community Impact Project) where we had a budget of only two dollars and we had to make a huge meal for only your group, my and I group decided to do fruit kababs, so we went on countdown's website and we looked for a whole bunch of fruit and apple juice.







After a few weeks of working and planning everything for the big meal and the menu, after finishing everything. We finally got to go do our shopping we arrived at the store and it was a mess once we got into the store all you could see is kids spreading around looking for things, I bet the teachers were very stressed but we managed to get everyone to school safe and sound.  After coming back to school and settling down we got told what to do and we then went off to our group and grabbed our ingredients and tools, after rustling and hustling we finished our fruit kebabs and then we pulled in the two big tables and we all placed our food onto the tables and we got into a half circle and did a prayer.

Dimic math reflection

In dimic math we got to learn a whole new bunch of stuff, we learned how to use a chart that looks like this.
The first time our teacher showed us the graph I was really confused because it looked like something only scientists would use to collect data, another thing we learned was collecting data with charts it was a fun and I'd say it's an easier way to collect data. Our teacher would put people into groups and she would see how well we worked together, if she saw a group that worked well and they were getting along nicely she would keep that group as it is but if the other groups weren't too good she would swap people, which I thought was a good idea because it gives other people a chance to work with others, and see how they learn because you can pick up a few things from it as well. I learnt a lot of new skills that can help me in the future with my maths and I would really like to use it next time. My group used a lot of strategies that I forgot most of them, but the groups I worked in had all these cool strategies and I thought it was cool and kinda interesting because I could see how other people work out problems, and equations. My group this week had a task and it was to see which person had more medicine I have to admit it was kinda the hardest one we have done so far, it took us about three or four tries to get it right but I didn't care about how much times we had to do it because I knew it was helping us learn.

Environmental:



Plastic and oil create pollution and is a very dangerous thing in today’s society. We really need to start picking up after ourselves
Ethical:



It’s not okay to drink and drive or just drive while you are intoxicated with drugs alcohol or anything of that kind.
My Brainstorm for an issue I am interested in
Ethical:
If you are pregnant and go to the doctor for an x-ray, and find out that our baby is different, you shouldn’t abort it’s your child you need to accept that yes your child may look different but that’s what makes us unique.


Environmental:
The environmental problems like global warming, air pollution, waste disposal, water pollution, climate change and many more affect every human and animal


Social:
Child abuse,bullying,domestic violence,neglection,drug use,alcoholism,racism
Are a lot of things that are happening, and yet no one does anything about it, people think since it’s so bad that no one can stop it yet we can stop it.


Reflection:
What do you think digital technology hurmanu will be about?:
I think it will be very like techy like computers robots and 3D printing machines, and it's going to be full of codes and I think we are going to do coding as well.

What do you already know about DT eg apps etc:
I know how to create games, I know how to create my own website and I can create art digitally.


What are you hoping to learn during this hurmanu?
I really want to know how to code and how to use a 3D printer as well as a few more tech things.








Reading task

                      
For reading me and my group have been reading a book called the bone tiki, it is a very interesting book and I do recommend it if you like reading

Summary of the story:
This is a book based in two worlds, the real world and the world of Maori legends. In the real world Mat Douglas, a 15 year old boy with a Maori father and a mother lives his life in Napier New Zealand. His parents are separated and he is going with his father to a Tangi for his great grandmother Wai-aroha, a woman who had disappeared for a long time and whose death awakens a great adventure.Wai-aroha wore a bone tiki around her neck and had promised it to Mat when she died.
