Foods Testing experience:

Aim:
What nutrients are present in different foods.

Hypothesis:
Testing simple sugars {carbohydrates that gives us energy fast}
Testing for complex sugars {carbohydrates to gives us energy slower}
Protein--~---
Bread, eggs, glucose, apple, milk, potato
I think bread is a complex sugar
I think eggs will be a protein
I think glucose will be a simple sugar
I think Apple will be a complex sugar
I think milk will be a complex sugar
I think potatoes will be a complex sugar
(Complex Test)
Equipment; Test tube, food sample, iodine solution.

Method;
1. Place about 2 ml of the sample in a test tube.
2. Add 3-5 drops of iodine and mix.

Result-

Observations
Potato- positive
Apple- Positive
Bread- Positive
egg- negative
milk-negative
glucose-negative

Discussion-

Conclusion- The bread and potato were correct but I was wrong with the apple.

(simple Test)
Equipment; Test tube, food sample, (naOH) (cuSO)
